Jamie G

What is a blog for? I think there's more of a justification for a vicar's blog (like this) that attempts to add an extra layer to the life of the church community, and is primarily for the congregation, rather than just a platform for the thoughts and ideas of an individual broadcast to the whole world. Though I blog myself (in a totally different sphere - focused on my job as a wine critic), I think there's occasionally something a bit creepy and narcissistic about the whole blogging genre, a flaw which is best avoided by having a clear goal, theme and focus.

Agree with you Jamie on adding an extra layer to the life of the church community. I've found it useful to keep in touch this week, while I'm in the US, with what's happening at All Souls and also for some encouragement etc..
